Dear Mrs. Karon,

Hi! My name is Maria, and I am 13 years old. My parents decided to homeschool me and my two siblings this past school year, and we did all kinds of fun learning activities. My mom also read aloud to us each morning while we three would draw. Guess what book my mom read to us? At Home In Mitford! I had read it before per my mom’s suggestion, and I had really liked it, but that had been a few years ago and I was very excited to hear it again!

My two siblings however had never read it, so they got introduced to the world of Mitford this year! We like it a lot, and my mom used funny voices for the characters! We laughed at all the funny things Father Tim thought and said. Our favorite part was when Emma said to Father Tim, “For once I have nothing to say,” and Father Tim said, “Thank God!” We laughed SO hard for SO long! It was so unexpected coming from Father Tim!

It took the whole school year to read the whole book, but when we finally finished it, our family had a Mitford party! We all said our favorite characters (which was very hard because all the characters are great) and my mom made the different places from Mitford out of paper. She made the Chapel and Cynthia Coppersmith’s house with Violet in the window and the Bakery with the Little Debbie treats, and the Grill with tables and chairs in the windows! It was so cool!

I love your book and I hope to read the rest of the series some day! Thank you for At Home In Mitford! We had a great school year because of your wonderful book!

     From,

    A Big Fan,

Maria
