On Saturday, September 28, we hosted GetLit! in the wake of Hurricane Helene. We almost cancelled but with so many attendees in town we knew we needed to be their port in the storm.
No lights, no microphones, very little technology, but we had running water and caterers with the power restored.
A highlight of the day was Jan’s conversation with Museum Director Sarah Thomas. The talk was wide ranging from the 30th anniversary of At Home in Mitford to details about the upcoming 15th Mitford novel. Please forgive the sound quality, lighting, etc. We captured this with no microphones or any other equipment aside from a camera with a battery we prayed would last. We’re so grateful it did!
